Hojicha is a Japanese green tea that gets its characteristic colour and flavour from the roasting process the tea leaves undergo: instead of greenness, an infusion of the amber-coloured tea produces a cup with warm, softly roasted notes and a round sweetness and hints of liquorice root and a light nuttiness. Our hojicha is made from an organic bancha that has been gently roasted. The tea has a low caffeine content and is therefore particularly suitable as an evening tea, but of course it is also good to drink at other times of the day. We have flavoured our Hojicha with organic peppermint. The roasted notes of the tea are balanced by the fresh peppermint.
