Our Earl Green is rooted in a tradition that goes back to the Tang Dynasty in China, where citrus peel was first used to flavour steamed green tea. This tradition evolved and was refined over the centuries, and today the finest citrus oil is extracted from the bergamot fruit, which is grown in many parts of the world. To create our Earl Green we have chosen to scent an organic green tea with a selected harvest of genuine, cold-pressed bergamot oil from Calabria, Italy - a region known for producing the best bergamot in the world.
The tea has a round and clear flavour with a fresh greenness that is both light and refreshing. Together with the distinct, citrus-fresh flavour of the bergamot, a harmonious balance is created, providing a green version of the classic Earl Grey, but with a softer and more subtle green tone. The natural freshness of the tea and the aromatic citrus oil complement each other in an elegant way.
