Chinese tea
China is the origin of tea. The first Chinese teas were grown here long before our era. The tea tradition is ancient; more than a millennium ago, Chinese tea was an exalted, gastronomic delicacy. We find here an enormous wealth of every conceivable type of tea. Huge and varied areas of mountain ranges offer perfect environments for tea cultivation. The creativity and knowledge of tea makers has long fuelled the evolution of all the teas we know today - from green to oolong, white, yellow, aged puerh, even the black ones that have mostly been exported. As China is such a tea paradise, it is natural that their teas take a large place in our range, and the fact that our family originates from Hong Kong also makes it natural and easy to travel and maintain contacts with the top tea makers in the country. We work with a number of farms in China that grow without pesticides and fertilisers and are located in remote, high-altitude locations in a clean and scenic environment.
